What's the deal with designer labels?

I%26#039;m not saying there is anything wrong with designer labels. I%26#039;m a little picky when it comes to my running shoes, but why is everyone so picky about what kind of purse or clothes they wear? Does it really make that big of a difference? Aren%26#039;t clothes pretty much all the same? Is it like an ego thing? What%26#039;s your opinion?

What%26#039;s the deal with designer labels?
Designer labels are for people who are very rich and live a certain luxurious lifestyle. These people just aren%26#039;t at all fazed by spending a thousand dollars on a purse. For them, DL%26#039;s are totally acceptable.

For the working class individuals who wear designer labels, it%26#039;s merely a way to keep up with these rich individuals and be able to mix and mingle with people of elite status and to falsely exude eliteness, if even for a short moment (like clubbing, etc.). These people buy their designer duds online where they can get a discount. It%26#039;s also a way to show the world %26quot;Hey, i%26#039;m important cuz I got a LV bag or True Religion jeans.%26quot;

Funny thing is, the coolest individuals are the ones that wear $2 jeans from Salvation Army.
Reply:Designer labels doesnt mean quality.thats just an excuse.i am not saying they are made in a bad way.what i am saying is that %26quot;cheap%26quot; clothes arent as bad as people make out.i buy cheap clothes all the time and they often outlast my friends designer clothes.i honestly think every reason a person say they buy designer clothes is an excuse.they are just for show.
Reply:because nowadays people feel that if they have more they have better
Reply:they are out to get your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and people think if purses or clothes are designer labels that the quality is better but whatever most of the designer clothes and purses are ugly anyway. thats why i dont bother with them. i%26#039;d rather buy from target and walmart anyday.
Reply:I know what you mean. My friend has always got to have name brand stuff and I just dont get it. It is sooo stupid that people are like that. Non-name brand stuff is just as good as name-brand stuff, and it is also much cheeper for stuff that look the same. It bugs me alot, but it%26#039;s their money that they%26#039;re wasting.
Reply:Well, designer anything makes us fit in first of all. Secondly I personally look at quality. I like Tommy hillfiger purses because the are designed well, and hold up to everyday use. I also am a sneaker freak, so Nikes and New Balance are a big part of my foot care. Some people just like the price while others just want to fit in. I like to shop at JC penny but who doesnt, that doesnt mean Im going to pay 50 for a shirt? but I really evaluate it.
Reply:yeah tell me about it, they get them because they are expensive and want people to think better of them and because they think they are cute, but I do not splurege on designer clothes because tomorrow I am loving something else.

Reply:Desighner Labels..Are AMAZING! I buy Name Brand Clothes! And I have A Von Dutch Hat..And I have 3 Louis Vuitton Belts and 3 Louis Vuitton Matching Purses! And I have A Kate Spade!! I Love Them! You Should try buying some designer labels! It gives me convidence in myself!

**Good Luck~
Reply:I think some people want designer clothes because they feel more important or higher up wearing them. I personally prefer generic brand clothes to designer clothes anyday. Some how generic brands are a lot more comfortable and are easier to take care of.
Reply:It%26#039;s just a matter of taste. Some store brand merchandise is just as good as designer merchandise. I always shop for a bargain, be it designer or store brand. It doesn%26#039;t make sense to live above your means just because Brittney Spears wore that on the red carpet or Usher had this on in his video. Look at realistically, you won%26#039;t ever have the money these people have, so why try to keep up with them. Just work with what you have, as long as you%26#039;re happy and comfortable with it.
