MBT Shoe sizing?

I wear a size 8.5 in women%26#039;s. I bought a pair of MBT%26#039;s today, $245. These shoes are sized at EUR 41 and US 10. Why does a size 10 in these shoes fit me when I am normally a 8.5? I want to buy another pair of these shoes online, but, I am skeptical of what size to buy. Anyone have any experience with these shoes fitting a size differently than what is labeled on the shoe?

MBT Shoe sizing?
I used to work in the Kings Road Sporting Club in London. We sold more MBT%26#039;s then any othe r stockists in the UK. Hundreds of pairs a year. I have fitted a LOT of MBT%26#039;s in my time.

They are a medical shoe! I cannot stress this enough. Incorrect use can really be harmfull.

To get the desired benifit out of them you need to use them correctly. You need to strike as far back on the heel as is comfortable and role right through the shoe until you toe off for your next step. This motion will stretch out your calf muscles and really work all the muscles up through your legs and buttocks. To test what I mean. Put them on and stand still in them with your feet about a shoulder lenght apart. Rock back and forth in them. When you put too much pressure on your heels you will feel unbalanced. That is because of the soft cut away heel. THis forces you to stand midsole and forward in them. This inturn makes you put your shoulders back and hips out improving your posture. You constantly ativate your core muscle group to keep stable.

The correct place to stand in them is slightly forward of the middle of the shoe, or %26#039;pivot%26#039; point. That is the point where you feel you can go forward or backwards evenly. When you are standing on this point you will never actually be still. You weill need to slightly adjust all the time to stay stable thus constantly working your muscles! Thats where you get a lot of the benifit.

Remeber not to wear them too much at first. Build up slowly or you can pull a muscle or worse. They really do activate your muscles a whole lot more.

You really shouldn%26#039;t buy them online because correct fitting is crucial. They really do not fit like a regular shoe. Most people go down half a size to a whole size depending. And a lot of the range feit very differently.

THe ideal fit is to have NO slipping in the heel. It needs to be snug so it does not lift when you go throught the heel to toe transition. Your toes should be as close to the front as possible without touching. The reason for this is that you need to control the shoe corectly and fully to get all the goodness out of them. Any movement due to a big size will mean foot movement lack of shoe control = no benifit. Your feet and the shoes need to be snug but not uncomfortable.

Having said that, you do not want to rely on them to give to be comfortable. They should be comfortable from the get go.

If you find yourself rolling in in them then really focus on keeping the pressure on the outside of your feet to keep the heel to toe motion nice and neutral.

You will get the benifit if you use them correctly. Avoid buying your next apir online! As a general rule they fit smaller. I am a 11uk and wear a 10 1/2 uk in most pairs. The sandals fot completely differently!

To fit them make sure you heel is right to the back and your toes are right at the front but not overlapping.

You should never ever be able to slip them off you rfeet! If you can then they are too lose and they WILL NOT WORK!

Some can be wider then other to.

The sizing of them are really strange and you should never be surprised what size you end up in, another reason you should avoid buying them online. Some people go half to a whole size down, other go up (usually because they have wide feet)

Hope this helps, Good luck!
